Moving Fruit bushes/canes
« on: January 14, 2013, 10:44 »
My husband has been slaving away up at the plot for me for the past couple of weeks creating raised beds out of our old deck - it looks great and the beds that I have filled with compost/Manure and soil are all much less waterlogged than the rest of the plot so I am really hopeful that I have found a solution to the waterlogging issues.  I promise to bring the camera with me the next time and get lots of pictures.

Because of the redesign for the raised beds I now have some fruit that needs to be moved (they will end up in the middle of the paths otherwise) and I am wondering should I do it now before they come into leaf or delay putting in the raised beds in the fruit section and leave it until after fruiting season is over.  I have 3 Gooseberries, 2 red currents and a blackcurrent and I also have both Summer and Autumn Raspberry canes.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Provided the ground is not frozen, you won't find a much better time than now to move them.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
