The Daily Coop - eggciting update
« on: May 04, 2011, 21:31 »
Well after weeks of speculation of whether she was really a he, the chocolate Wyandotte chick showed his true colours  ::)

After a swift trip back to the breeder, the 13 week old blue Orpington bantie chick who was the other half of the dynamic duo known as the scruffy herberts has a new companion.  Yoda (named by the breeder's children) is officially the smallest cutest chicken in the world.  She's a five month old Serama but don't be fooled by her size - this little lady has attitude  ;)

The pair had a run in the garden while the big gang were out.  Foghorn the Fearsome tried his best to woo them.  He took them a dandelion leaf I gave him and chucked them over, but the Odd Couple just started at him.  He tried some corn I gave him.........same response.....so somewhat crestfallen he went to parade around to one of his existing girls

She's broody so he got short shrift there as well as all she was interested in was hanging round the coop waiting for the door to be reopened

Thank you for your comments.  I'll let Foghorn know he has a fan club as his younger 3 girls are now all broody and don't want to know and the older 3 never have had any time for him

As for Alphie CC, he's doing well.  This is the latest pic I have of him posing with his 2 girlies

The Odd Couple strike again!  Came home today to find Yoda, the world's smallest chicken had laid the world's smallest chickie egg   Here it is next to a 2p piece and an orpington bantie egg for comparison.  Now to find the world's smallest frying pan

Me too   She is very very sweet and comes running up to you as fast as her little legs will carry her if she thinks you have treats.  She laid another tiny egg yesterday and was sooooo proud of it  :D
