Can anyone recommend some salad leaves that can be harvested as cut and come again?

I've seen some 'mixed salad leaves' seed packets, but don't really fancuy it as I want to know what it is!

oh they're lovely and they usually say on the packet what's in it

Organic Gardening Catalogue has some good ones as do Seeds of Italy

They're easy to grow and mean you always have some salad leaves to hand. They can be grown in baskets or boxes, pots or on the plot.  No bother  :D   Go on plunge in  :D

If  you mean lettuce only, I grew a good one last year but I would need to try and find the name and supplier, if that's what you were interested in. :)

They don't seem to come the same even under very similar name from different supplier.

I've grown Cocarde lettuce for years and it stands all weathers  a couple of rows sees us through the summer althought this year I'm adding some of those spicy T&M mixes to my list to grow and if you can get them try some of the  red mustard I think I got that from Dobies- trouble is I've bought that much I can't remember where I did get half of them

I grow mixed salad leaves in a trough, in the greenhouse in the winter and outside in the trough in the summer.  For the two of us we have found we need 16 leaves to make a salad with so it lasts for quite a while. I think I probably do about four two foot troughs a year.

I had a good crop with T & Ms Niche Oriental Mix last year.  They grew in a trough on the kitchen window sill until I was able to plant outside.

I like to make lettuce sarnis on the plot for lunch. Bread and butter, lettuce leaves and a bit of salt. Lovely
