How long will they keep dried on a string for ?

I don't know about habaneros, but any other chillis air dry well on a ristra, pictured in this thread:

My 2009 air-dried crop was still just getting used up by late spring time last year.

I'm still using my 2010 dried Superchilli and Cayenne, and they're absolutely fine. I like them dried, makes them much easier to handle and very easy to convert to chilli flakes or powder if you want to. Last year I didn't even bother stringing them up, just chucked them in a bowl on the windowsill and they dried just as well.
