Nettle tea
« on: June 21, 2008, 21:38 »
I haven't got round to making any this year, so just to make sure I'm doing it correctly as I've forgotten:

Pick loads of nettles and put them in a bucket
Top up with water
Put a stone on top and wait 2-3 weeks until it stinks to high heaven
Water onto plants at a rate of 1:10

Is that about right?

I was going to do it with comfrey but my comfrey plant is tiny  :(
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!

what I have read elsewhere on the forums is dilute till it is a weak tea colour.

Am making my second batch just now, have put nettles in a potato seed bag to try and stop it blocking up my watering can rose when the time comes.

I was wondering, when I made the 2nd brew a couple of days ago, I made maybe 10L to begin with, I poured it in to a larger container a couple of days later, I was wondering if this could be applied as a feed already as it was a tea brew colour?
