3mx6m polytunnel layout advice needed please
« on: January 03, 2022, 08:18 »
I’m just building my 3mx6m polytunnel frame and can’t decide whether to have 2 wider beds along the sides and a path down the middle or a larger bed in the middle and 2 smaller beds down the sides with narrow paths between. Does anyone have any advice / experience about which is better? Thanks in advance.

Firstly... you'll never look back!

Mine are this size too, and have a central path and a bed either side, which I divide into blocks for growing. When I marked out the two path model, it seemed I was using too much valuable space for them.

 Good luck with yours   :D

In my experience narrow paths never work , they may be tempting to gain more growing space , but in practice can be a right pain  !  :)

I'd go for the central path. If you need more space then you could hang shelving from the crop bars if you have them. Look at a guy on YouTube called Steve who posts videos under the title Green Side Up. He's got lots of advice on polytunnels

Thank you all for your advice. I was leaning towards the central path and I’m now convinced! Now I just have to be patient and not plant anything too early…
