Asparagus Crowns
« on: April 09, 2011, 17:40 »
Hi all

My asparagus crowns have just arrived, and they're all in a bag tangled together and looking really dry.

I'm wondering, should I put these all in a bucket of water to soak up moisture, or is that a daft idea.  Not sure if I've read it somewhere or not ....

Yes, you can let them soak, but only for up to 8 hours or they'll start to go soggy on you. I'd try about 4 hours and see if they look better. They don't have to be truly fat but its okay if they're still a bit skinny when you plant them out.
