not being a big fan of asparagus i do like it to eat but you only get a bit from a lot of work and space, unles your are karl and have 40 acres of it.
but today i took the plunge and bought some from wilkos 3 crowns for £2 so i got 3 packs.
should i have got a couple more?
and whats the best way to plant ?
and one more wee thing how long can i leave them in those plastic bags?
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

and ita 1/4 acre
So you've got 1/4 acre of asparagus or 1/4 acre of allotment/garden?  How do you market the asparagus?

Hi muntjac just seen your pics. How much time per week do you spend on your plots to keep them in that condition?

other than when planting n such just keeping weeds down or pottering about 2 hours . diging like that is a couple days werk or so .once you have it under control the werk gets easy . sowing / planting and harvesting is the hard part

The plot pix are impressive for all that nail-less digging. But why so much? Do you um..'share' with others, or is that all for you? Or is there a family of 25 at home? Can't believe you haven't invested in a rotovator (almost wrote rototiller as we call them here).
