Just to be different. OH is at this moment digging the stump of this tree out. We have no idea what it is but it is too close to the house and presumably that is whay it has been cut down, years ago by the look of the stump. I can't help feeling it must have been 'something' as the Bulgarians are not inclined to plant unproductive trees.

This is my fig, totally different shape and texture. If it helps, the wood is incredibly hard.

Those big leaves are identical to my fig tree's: Brown Turkey
 

They respond very well to hard pruning, if that helps  :)
