Cherry (Maynard), Nectarine (Necterella) and Apricot (Flavourcot) for me VegGirl and they are really nice looking trees, very pleased.  :)

Help me decide.  They are selling a walnut tree half price and I think I need one but am not sure.  I was given one for my birthday in January and it's looking like a dead twig in the ground.  Should I buy a new one and pretend it's the one I was given?

I'd love to have room for just 1 walnut... but would you have room for 2 of them if the other survives??  if it does die you could pretend... if you think they wouldn't be able to tell the difference

I don't really have room for one walnut but it was an expensive present from my townie friend. ::)  If I buy another one the first one gets composted. 8)  On one hand they grow like mad, block out the light and the roots poison any competing plants.  On the other hand I quite like walnuts and my friend.  No, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference. ;)

I was keen to have a walnut tree a couple of years ago, but didnlt for all the reasons you have listed.

If I had been given one by a friend though it might take on a different view somehow....

.... and they'd never know it wasnlt the same one

If they both grow, you'll have to give one to a friend too

I'm now the proud owner of a Cherry (Stella), Plum (Victoria), Peach (Bonanza) and FREE Apple (Sunset) tree
Ordered them on Saturday and delivered today - and the Peach already has blossom on, need to get it in the ground quickly - guess what I'll be doing tomorrow  :D

Wow, that's quick delivery.

I ordered on Tuesday, so hope mine come just as quick!

I ordered:

Cherry Tree, Stella AGM
Pear Tree, Conference AGM
Nectarine Tree, Nectarella (Patio)
Apple Tree, Sunset   (FREE!)
Leek, Porbello - Trial Seed (FREE!)
Olive Plant (£5, reduced from £13!)

Oh Dear.  Wish I hadn't seen this post.

Has anyone ever planted fruit trees in their front garden  as I'm seriously running of room. I recently planted a crab apple in the front and would have room for another tree...

Hi Sarajane. My front garden is NE facing and only gets sun in the mornings.  I've put a crab apple in this year and was also thinking of a Morello Cherry... :)
