Title: 2019 Growing season started.... :)
Post by: andyww2013 on February 03, 2019, 19:34
Hi,

So my 2019 growing season has started today, leeks and onion seeds planted, hopefully the (unheated) conservatory will be cosy enough for them as there is still 6 inches of snow in Berkshire.

Not quite there yet for me. I've been planning to sow my onion seeds throughout January but I've held off to see how cold February is likely to be. I may well do my onions and leeks tomorrow and then my chillies next week.

I was hoping to have a few seeds sown by now but work on the polytunnel has stopped due to the plot being a complete mudbath! A bit of digging still to do and yesterday the surface was part frosted but wet underneath so the clay came up and stuck to my boots in big sticky clods, horrendous. Have to wait a few weeks and hope the ground becomes a bit more forgiving...
