anyone know anything about Lohmann's?

That's it really.  I have been offered some Lohmanns and wondered if anyone knows much about them?  I have had a look on some search engines and they seem to be used a lot in testing (yuck :evil: ) but also in free range egg production :D .  They don't seem to appear on this site at all.... is there a reason for this?

They are simply one of the myriad of hybrid hens that are available. They are probably no worse and no better than any other. :D

It's a long time since we had Lohmann's, but their website may be of interest to you!  Nice sized eggs!!!  Birds a bit smaller than my Amberlinks or Babcock's!!

Thanks for your replies.  Was a bit worried that as they were so cheap maybe they were bred more for the wholesale market and not a 'family' bird.

OOh it must be inflation, mine are 4.95 !!  lol beats the £15 -£20 that other hybrids are being sold for around here.
They are coming next saturday.  Can't wait to post some pics
