Germination times

Can anybody tell me how long, on average, should the following take to germinate please?:

butternut squash
crown prince pumpkin
dwarf french beans
runner beans

I sowed some in peat pots and put them in my mini greenhouse about 10 days ago and absolutely nothing has happened yet

The courgettes and cukes I sowed at the same time are doing great! The only difference I can think of is that the squash/beans were planted in peat pots and the cukes/courgettes in plastic pots. I have been keeping the peat pots adequately watered though.

I thought beans were the easiest thing to grow! I've had no trouble with supposedly trickier things! Trust me to be awkward

Pumpkins and beans take a bit longer usually than courgettes, otherwise I thought of the watering as you mentioned and maybe if on the ground , lifting the pots and just be patient, no other idea.

If nothings happening, have a little look and sow again, I'm afraid.

Well, just back from a week's holiday in France and lots of the beans and squash have germinated at last and are growing merrily away! They do say a watched pot never boils - must be the same for seeds!

I've got beans that I planted a week ago and I must admit to inspecting them morning and night!

It's so hard to plant them and ignore them!  :D
