I've always loved to make stuff but was so pleased when daughter started doing invitations and pictures and even more when my son sent me pics of his chair he recovered to match his desk blown  away by them both .

I must find something to do through the winter.   I am not very clever with crafts, and get impatient with myself if I cannot do it.   I read at night, and that's not productive, neither is doing jigsaws although it is satisfying when finished.   Arthritis can get painful, so although I like adult colouring sometimes I cannot do too much.    I don't have a sewing machine.     There must be something I can try my hand at -  any suggestions or ideas please.     Mrs Bouquet

Lacquering old brass???  I used to do cross-stitch and used a lot of patterns from Jo Verso's books. Owing to Covid I'm staying in lock-down so thought I'd do one for my dear friend as a festive present. I've already got her some fingerless gloves as she does a lot of walking but this is going to be a sampler with the words “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  Fight for you. Respect you. Include you. Encourage you. Need you. Deserve you. Stand by you.” Just got to measure out the amount of fabric I need that will fit into one of my empty photo frames, choose the border, type of letter to use, motifs etc, cut them out and prit-stick them onto my master plan then begin. Anyone else making presents for others?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

My Mother had a crystal hanging in her  bedroom window.  She believed when it twinkled it uplift the spirit.    I have had it in a box for a couple of years.    6 weeks ago I got some 3mm  fishing line and threadled it onto the top.  I have hung it in a very sunny place and it moves in the breezes and twinkles away.   I look at it and say "Hallo Mum"     Mrs Bouquet

Mot me, but that is a lovely quilt.  I think it is really pretty and so neat as well.  If that is your first go, you should be very proud of it  :)
