Has anybody used white oil to control and kill white fly amongst other nasties?

I'll ask it, what's white oil?  (resisted my brain to type white it's usual way)!

looks like something used in Aussie.
We have used neem oil for bugs on cacti. You need to redo for weekly for a few weeks to kill babies

I've  not used white oil but i have used my own mix of garlic and chilli powder with a dash of washing soap and it seems to have worked on most things including our brassicas
