They look just the job. Did you use glass or plastic tops?
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Polysheet tops in a baton frame, noshed.

they would be better off with a bit of an angle to them so rain runs off. easily done with a bit of extra baton on one side.
They do hold water when level and can sag shockingly if not emptied regularly.

It looks like those are within my carpentry skills - if I can make stage blocks, I can make a cold-frame.  Good to know.

Side hinged lights on a double light cold frame will restrict your ability to dump something across the top of both of them to prevent the lights (or even the complete frame) flipping open in a storm.

Unless it sits on a solid bed/plinth set in the ground, mice, etc, will gain ingress and eat any seeds you are gerninating, or have recentley germinated. Moles could also be a problem in your cold frame if they are around outside.

Pic of mine is in above post, and despite going 9" blelow ground, I've had to 'mouse proof' the sides to stop them getting in and eating my germinating seeds.

P.S. Anything in the middle of that frame is likely to get 'washed out' in heavy rain.

From Pallets....

.....to these.  Just need to put the kitchen handles I skanked from work on them. The cold frame is higher at the back, and he's left legs on so he can sink it into the ground. I'm chuffed to bits with them.

Simple & smart, I hope you don’t have those patented Kerry, I think I will be rustling a few of those up myself.
Mack.

Very nice job. I added weed barrier to mine. Wooden windows are best - the aluminum units I used fell to bits once removed from frames. Also slug pellets or beer traps are advised.

I don't know whether you've noticed James, but this thread is 5 years old. Mack has not posted on here for 2 years.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
