The New Girl (for Joyfull)
« on: June 01, 2010, 13:53 »
Thought you may like a picture of my girl that is going to go and live with Joy  :D I have now got a secure run built, but this little one is having none of it - having been free range since birth she refuses to give in and screams for escape when put in. Of course, the other girls also scream, but only when they see me - this little terror just keeps going according to my neighbour  ::)

I love her to bits, but with the secure run in place I want to keep them in there as much as possible and knowing Joy wants a speckled I asked her if she would be kind enough to give my little one a new home - and she said yes  :D

I've reduced my chicken numbers as I really do love my ducks and have gradually changed the flock, so now I have just the four chooks - but that also means that I can let them into the garden with less devastation. I'll always keep a few chooks as I love their personalities, but I'm a ducky girl at heart  ::) I really had to claim some garden back for me as well, the chooks just seem the think I am a cruel cruel person  ;) The ducks don't really seem to care as long as they have their pools they don't seem fussed about being in a run thankfully  :)

I know Joy will give this little one a great home  :D :D :D

Edit: and not a floppy comb in sight Joy  ;) :tongue2:

who is Moi or the chicken Scabs?
She is lovely Cara and I will use the name you suggested to keep in with my 50's theme so yes she will be Etta James  :D
Just hope she is looking forward to taking meanders down the bridleway and excursions into the field next door with the rest of my girls, today they even had a male escort - one of the guinea fowl wandered down with them on full alert
WooHoo I now have a Speckled Sussex - the breed of hen I wanted first off but never got  :D
Staffies are softer than you think.

Etta will love long walks - she is a little escape artist  ::) I do wonder if she will miss the fun of trying to escape when she can go wherever she wants   ;)
