Seed buying relapse
« on: March 30, 2013, 18:14 »
I thought I had overcome my addiction to buying more seeds, having kept this year's purchases to a couple of packets.  Then I went on holiday to Japan.   They didn't warn me that there are whole shops, yes, whole shops, devoted to nothing but seed packets.  I went into one in the mountain town of Takayama and got some seeds for a giant daikon radish and some orange coloured mini plum tomatoes, neither of which I need.

Our tour leader translated the names for me.  I have bought the varieties Watanabe Type 2 and Candlelight respectively.

I thought I did well to keep to only two myself.

Every time I go into Wlikos...
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I know it's crazy. I used have hundreds of packets and could never go in to a garden centre without buyout at least 1 packet of something.

Now I only have 75 packets.

But I'm on the lookout....... :)
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

It's all about discipline.

And I have none......

I end up throwing most of them away 3-4 years down the line.
