artichoke
« on: July 11, 2010, 14:09 »
hi again,
another of my adopted plants is an artichoke.
its got about four heads growing and is infested with black-fly and i have seen black ants up and down the stems.
should i just sacrifice the heads this year and worry about control next year?
also what are the ants after?

They farm the fly  ;)
Give the heads a good spray with washing up liquidy water, shoul get rid of most of them.
and do it every now and then till you harvest them.

Remember to soak them before cooking though to catch the hiding ones
