Is it ok to use a juicer? the recipe book I have says don't shred (but it was written in 1970).
I don't want to buy a press = it seems a lot for one or two products a year

I intend to use a steam juice extractor when my pears and the crabbies are ready. Homebrew shops sometimes hire out fruit presses, but everybody wants them at the same time of course. Cheers, Tony.

We made some apple wine a couple of years ago. My other half trod these to a pulp in a plastic tub which worked a treat; I will upload the photograph when I am feeling brave/foolhardy........

I've got another gallon on the go, of apples from staem extracted juice. You don't get a lot of juice, but it is thicker than normal. ::) Cheers, Tony.
