D'oh!
« on: July 09, 2011, 21:10 »
While weeding my new asparagus bed I came across some young plants which had germinated from the kitchen scraps in the homemade compost I used. Ohboyohboy! free veg! Curious and eager I potted them up, watered and watched as some large leaves developed. They are definitely squash, cucumber, melon or courgette; went to Been & Queued and bought a bag of farmyard manure to bring them on.

B****y slugs have munched six of them only one left: it is now in its own mound surrounded by little blue pellets under a cloche.

I just know it will turn out to be dock or some other useless weed!
A weed is a plant that's in the wrong place and intends to stay

Oh dear  :(
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

If the slugs have left it alone then it probably is.
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?
