Shallot sets

Anyone had any problems with poor quality shallot sets - possibly a result of the weather last year? I've had to plant some Tesco ones to make up the numbers. It will be interesting to see how they compare.

I had 3 bad ones in the bag of Red Sun but all of Longor were good. Now if I could just stop next doors cat digging them up I might get somewhere!!

Just noticed you both said you had planted your shallot sets does that mean I need to plant mine now, I was going to wait a week or two.

They are pretty hardy and can go in now. Unless they are Sante which are supposed to be planted in April (don't tell anyone but I planted Sante in March last year)

Mine have been in for about three weeks now and are just beginning to show but I am an awful lot further south than you!
