Not much more than a kitten.

The families young cat found the leaders of my climbing beans great sport to swipe at. I found this quite amusing for a few days until i realized that the darn thing has killed the top growth. There are a few leaves below on all affected plants. What are the chances that a decent recovery can come about?

As long as they have a leaf or 2, they should regrow, as long as the kitten leaves them alone now  ::)

I hope it does keep away mumofstig. I thought i had saved plenty of seed from last year, but even indoor grown plants didn't germinate particularly well. It's a disappointing, and elated pastime is this gardening lark.

As Mum says, once they get going even with a couple of leaves, you may even find that the leaders will double up from the one seed, so if you can keep up with the watering and feeding, the crop could prove even better than you thought!
