Attention ladies....Lose weight - get chickens.........

Bah! to succession of failed, expensive and depressing 'weight loss' plans.  This week have lost 2.5 kgs!!!!!!!!!!!

The answer? have got some backyard chickens!

Instead of pigging out on ice cream / similar dessert 'naughties' after evening meal I now go out and put my chickens to bed.  By the time I've swept up, filled up the feeders and waterers in my PJ's and 'cloggies' (much to OH's delight!) all thoughts of post dinner stuffing have gone.

What with the evenngs getting lighter this whole exercise will only take longer....    This is an angle I'm sure Messers Oliver & Fearnley-Whittingstall have overlooked......

has anyone else had this experience?

Well I haven't noticed any weight loss -  I do spend a lot of time "pottering" outside with the chickens! Or is it they spend time "pottering" around with me!  

I have a bench near my chickens run and now with the lighter evenings -  sit there watching the girls with a glass of wine.......      

Got to lose some weight before hubby comes home next month..... maybe move the bench :idea:

Rob, I know the feeling- we have been eting poached eggs every lunchtime!  They are tasty though.  Got 7 eggs yesterday, so got to eat more eggs now :shock:  I´m going to have a go at pickling some, never had a pickled egg before.

We did consider selling but we'd only have a surplus of about a dozen or so a week so really need to find a regular customer rather than passing trade.

We're havign omelettes and poached and fried and cakes and and and and and.........

Our elderly neighbours won't take any. I'll try the couple opposite. They might use a few. We even give half a dozen when we get freecycle stuff.

I don't know why we had 6 chickens. 4 would have done.  :roll:
