hi all
right I`m currently growing toms in the greenhouse, the first truss have set and i have lots on nice size toms waiting to ripen, the 2nd truss are setting slowly but i noticed on a few of the plants that the 3rd and 4th truss allthough flowing very well they are just dying and falling of the plants.
i have 4 different types( marmade.money maker, amatuer and feline(i think) it seems to have affected the marmade the most with all 3 plants suffering.
anybody any ideas..?

Perhaps they are not getting pollinated in the greenhouse.  Why not play at being the bee and give the flowers a little tickle with a soft brush

So it says on the tub  :)  Perhaps its lack of pollination ?  I've lost a few off my top trusses too but only the odd one.
DD. will be around soon he may know more.

Hi Welsh Boyo,

I had exactly the same problem with my Roma toms in the greenhouse, seem to set at random, I think it is like aunt sally et al said Pollination, my self polinating cilega tom's are all set in trusses and doing v well as I care for them both the same, both get the same water and feed.

My learning, so I tap the bush every night now, see if that works.

Dave

Very much.

they'll be fine fine but you lose some flowers now and then to dry conditions, don't worry 8)

Blossom drop.

I think between you, you've covered all the factors. Lack of pollination caused by lack of moisture in the air or dryness at the roots.

Regarding feeding, most brands give a dosage to be given every other day.

If you want to get into a proper routine if you can't remember when you last fed them, give them a half strength dose every day.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
