Tell me about sprouts and white sprouting broccoli

Hubbie was given some plants and being a novice (and not into doing research AT ALL. He just stuck them in the ground in the week.

He didn't really dig over the area much so I am sure slug pellets would get lost down the cracks. No manure or feed put in at all.

Can someone give me advice on should I put some growmore of something down retrospectively, do I need to net etc?

They like firm ground, so should be OK, mind the slugs, hoe in some lime and net them. You can feed later.
