I've stood and gazed into the fridge a number of times but nothing has screamed eat me. I'm trying to resist the urge just to tip a tin of tuna into a bag of microwave spicy rice

Roast beef with roast potatoes,parsnips, butternut squash,red onion, garlic, mushrooms & peppers , with sprouts,broccoli, carrots & peas. Can you tell we’ve got stuff needed to be used up lol. There might even be Yorkshire puds, if I think I can manage a couple (they’re in the freezer as we now make a tray full & freeze the leftovers  :lol) & gravy of course.

I also found a small pot of chilli beans and an unlabelled one that looked like mince and veg  Luckily that's what it was and mixed together it made quite a tasty meal

Sawhedges if they defrost in time as I was late taking them out. Probably time I had mash and onion gravy, which just leaves whatever I can find in the freezer for the veggies.

Breaded cod for me and a steak for Paul, both with chips.

Leftovers-lamb chops,mash, various veg, gravy, with some extra freshly cooked veg to fill it out.

A couple of chicken drumsticks in breadcrumbs, I added a sprinkle of Cajun spice, with coleslaw, peas and small boiled potatoes.

The sawhedges hadn't defrosted so I ended up with beans on toast. I cooked them late evening with the intention of having them tonight - but I have a serious case of the CBA  and peeling spuds is such an effort.

This afternoon I made a batch of small meat pies and some basic 'post-war recipe' fairy cakes.
Cooking some mixed veg to go with a pie and as I've already eaten 2 cakes,  I'll not be cooking potatoes

I forced myself to make the effort and they "went" in the water, I ended up with lumpy sludge I couldn't mash    I rescued enough lumps for last night but there should have been leftovers for today.

Not sure if I'll try mashing those spuds again tonight, I really don't want to make wedges and the sawhedges need eating.

I've also found some of my spuds aren't cooking well this year, as you say they're either hard or sludge. Its weird

There’s a reasonable amount of beef hot pot leftover from last night. But as I’m trying to get to one of the farm shops we go to tonight as they’re having a Christmas market with 10% off almost everything including meat, but it’s 5 til 7 or 8pm. There’s a lovely cafe there, so depends on whether it’s just drinks & cakes on offer there as to what we end up with. I shall be stocking the freezer with meat hopefully.
