Hello folks, me again, 3rd time this week 
I've always grown runner beans up canes on either a wigwam or a munti frame
this year I've gone for a munti frame again but I've attached twine at the lowest
part of the roof in front of each upright cane & anchored them down with a tent
peg where each plant will be put in with the hope that they will twist & climb up
the twine, this is because I've fixed the upright canes to the 6' fence for extra stability
as we are on the edge of a farm field & it gets quite windy.
Anybody done this before & did it work ok ? 
Once again I look forward to your comments. I always find them helpful.

When I was a kid my old man and his lotty neighbours grew beans up sisall string, strung vertically between frames. I tried it but getting the old bean vines off the string at the end on the season is a right pain, it's easier to discard the whole lot but means adding lots of sisall to the compost heap. Thinking about it the old chaps used to just burn everything, nothing recycled into compost.

I use nylon twine for my beans on the munty frame most years. As for getting them off the twine Blewit I find if I wait until all the leaves have fallen & the stems are quite dry it’s a lot easier, plus I untie the twine & wearing strong gloves I just slide the plant off.

make sure you use good quality twine, i used an old roll i found in my stuff a few years ago. bad decision, wet windy kinda summer and the twine kept breaking. nothing worse than going out in the morning and 1 or 2 of your french beans are on the ground after you put effort into them. sometimes savable sometimes not.

 i moved to x shaped fully bamboo pole trellis with the "top pole" in the middle rather than the top with diagonal poles stoping sideways movment. makes getting at the beans slightly easier too in my opinion. works beter from me where i am, wind barreling off the hills and mountains.
