Just treated myself to a slow cooker, ideas for the best recipe book please ? There are so many I don't know where to start!

I would not buy a book I would just surf the net for recipes. Most casserole type meals can be done in the slow cooker.

Brilliant Lardy, thanks for that!  ;)

I love my slow cooker. It's fab for roasting a chicken (if you don't need it to be crispy and brown) and I always slow cook beef joints (when they are on offer), slice and freeze in gravy.  :)

the one ive got came with my very first slow cooker 24 years ago it was hard back and I still use it today , ut agree the internet can throw up some great recipes .

I have a few but the one I use most is this one herehttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Slow-Cooker-Cookbook-Delicious-Preparation/dp/0754814866/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1400263291&sr=1-2&keywords=slow+cooker+atkinson which I bought at a discount bookshop or charity shop or something.  The recipes are sensible but the best bit is the first 60 odd pages of the basics - how to do meat and rice and stock etc in the slow cooker.

I also like the site Lardman gave you.  The recipes are very US but I anglicize them quite easily.  She is great about her disasters too!
