We have pulled up (almost) an olive tree and hopefully before the week is up we will have pulled up a HUGE orange tree.  We want to grow veggies in this area (once it is fenced off from the hens)  
We thought we would plant potatoes for the first crop.  Would it be sufficient to fertilise first with horse manure?  We can get plenty and it´s free  
Neighbour is having a load of fertiliser delivered (really fine stuff) but it is 100€ a load :shock:   We can´t afford anything like that amount!  I´m sure he said 100€ I will check!

i suppose it depends on what has been sprayed on the fields that the horses have been grazing in. I once mixed in some horse manure in to some soil i was using for repairing a lawn and i have been getting mushrooms from it ever since

The horses (2) graze in the paddock attached to the mans garden, they are ´organic´ almost   Come the summer there will be no grass to see, just bare soil :shock:
