Title: Early seed potato swap
Post by: Grubbypaws on November 22, 2020, 15:02
I always grow Lady Christl. This year T&M have for some reason substituted them with another early called Swift. Has anyone any experience of this variety? Is it going to be as nice as my Lady C or should I go to a different supplier and cancel my T&M order?

Swift is a well-recognised variety.  I suspect there is limited stock everywhere for seed potatoes this year, so don't necessarily assume you'd find tubers elsewhere - do your research before cancelling anything.

I appreciate I'm very late in replying to this, but I've just been told by a very helpful lady at Bridgend Garden Centre that she's been unable to get any saleable Lady C from anywhere this year. There appears to have been a general crop failure so I wouldn't hold out much hope of picking some up on the offchance.

I agree with TangoJulie. Our supplier has advised that they can't supply Lady C this year. I think we chose Red Duke of York as an alternative.
