Small black flies, like fruit flies. I recently repotted some of my houseplants, and the potting compost seems to be full of the little critters. Have moved the worst outdoors this morning, but not sure what to do next.
Any ideas ? Mrs Bouquet

If I use fresh compost for any of our houseplants, it gets blitzed in the microwave for a couple of minutes to kill the little bleeders.
Obviously, you need to use an old dish to do it in aswell as to let it go cold before using it, works for me!

I bought some of these this year. They are small enough to use indoors and have certainly worked for me with the fungus gnats.

I did the same with some of my compost last year and had those little critturs all over. Think they're called scariad flies or something like that.

Thanks for that. It looks like posh fly paper that we used when we were kids. Mrs B
