The world's gone potty.  At 5 explaining what gender neutral means will need him needing counselling for the rest of his days.

Some people take life in general and themselves in particular far too seriously and would benefit hugely from a sense of humour implant. Whatever happened to letting children be children and allowing them to enjoy what will probably be the only totally stress free years of their lives without forcibly imposing adult's views and beliefs on them?

Forget gender neutral, I've got several Thomas the Tank Engine still in sealed packets as my grandson was terrified of them!

I'm hoping my granddaughter is made of sterner stuff!!

Mmmmm, I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I don't believe you Jezza, never heard a person in the real world say something like that. Sounds like that bicycle post you made a couple of weeks back.

Next time, Jezza, send the kid a copy of 'The Long Good Friday', or 'The Usual Suspects', and see if the parents want them instead...

Jezza    You can always use the DVDs as bird scarers.
I started doing this, but I've found with the discs banging against the bamboo canes, the silver stuff peeled off and went all over one of my raised beds... Apparently its made from Mylar a type of polyester, though I'm not sure if it will break down so I picked as much of it out as I could!

Playing Devils advocate, there is a difference between protecting young children from the gender stereotypes we were all brought up with and debating the subject with them.  The world is a better place for equal rights, even if some of the attitude changes seem a bit weird to those if us who grew up in simpler times when boys wore blue, girls wore pink and mother had hot dinner on the table when he got home from work or knew about it!
