Title: Well I went to buy some Turkeys.........(Pics added)
Post by: min200 on August 28, 2010, 17:23: Off I toddled with daughters in tow to buy a couple of Christmas Turkeys. Ive always wanted to grow my own crimbo birds and was lucky enough to find a chap locally who had a few left...superb!!

Well we got there and he showed us his lovely batch of Jubilee Orpington chicks that are a week old today. Fantastic little bundles of fluff that will turn into real beuties when fully grown. Of course I had the kids in tow and not enough in my wallet to buy two different lots of birds and I am mean enough most of the time to say no to the girls if I have to but the look on my youngest daughters face this time was just too much!

I am now the proud owner of 6 chicks so a shop bought Turkey for the table again this year!

Post by: joyfull on August 28, 2010, 18:25: pretty bird the jubilee orp is, just make sure your house and run are like colditz after your last problem. As for the turkey I know a good turkey breeder if you want a really tasty home grown bird for that special holiday dinner :)

The whole place is now like Colditz Joy!! Seriously they have windows insyead of wire :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yes it played havoc when i was taking pics though! No if only I could find someone to buy a big fat crimbo Turkey from???

Me too, I get all chookternal! What lovely babies, AND they get to read OK magazine! Im so jealous.
Have I just made up a word? Chookternal?

And blimey dont they smell quickly!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
