Elephant Garlic
« on: July 09, 2012, 12:45 »
I have just harvested some of my elephant garlic and am really pleased.  Nice big potent smelling bulbs.  I bought some from the GC and some from Wight garlic on holiday.  The Wight garlic cloves were a bit of a punt as they were those that they were selling for culinary purposes rather than planting but they were so much cheaper.

As they are bulbs that have grown without sexual reproduction and are clearly good in our climate can I replant some of these again in October or is there a disease issue I should be aware of?  Obviously I would be planting them out after drying off a bit and in a fresh site.

Alot of people save their 'own grown' garlic to plant later on in the season - so yes you can!
