Found in chicken coop this morning:

Hmmm... a bit hard to tell from the photo, but to me that looks like the membrane that would surround a shell-less egg.  Maybe the chicken laid an egg without a shell, then broke the membrane and ate the contents?

I agree with Lindeggs - it doesn't look like a lash from those photos to me.

What is a lash? I have chickens but have never heard the term.

It looked a bit like the "shell" of a soft egg, but the texture was sort of fatty. Normally if they lay shell-less eggs in the coop, I find an area of soggy bedding where the egg has soaked in, but there wasn't one today.
