Just found in the lawn after letting out chook (between torrebtial showers) and odd looking, er 'egg'?

About the size of your little finger, brown, slimming down to a point at one end and in a very thin shell that broke when I picked it up...

Was it a lash from one my chooks, or something else?

A lash doesn't have a shell.  It is more like a lump of meat, when you cut it open it would be solid.  There are plenty of pictures online of a lash. 

Can you post a photo of it?

Would of if I had thought of doing that then. 

Defo not meat, it had a clear liquid inside it when it broke open, bit like an egg white with no yolk....

Could be a small birds egg or even a grass snake egg, difficult to speculate without being able to see it.  I would not worry about it.

Some soft shelled eggs can be like that.  They can come in different sizes and shapes.
