Title: Flubenvet
Post by: Mildredsmum on September 29, 2010, 08:26
Hi,
I've just bought some Flubenvet 1% and I want to check I've worked out the dose correctly. It says: 6g for every 2kg. I have two chickens aged 25 weeks.
One scoop of layers pellets weighs 350g so I reasoned that 3 scoops would need 3 grams of wormer. Today I filled up the feeder with 350 grams of feed, but took some out and mixed it with water to soften and added a pinch of wormer out of half a scoop of the wormer (3g). Does a pinch a day sound about right between them or should it be a pinch per bird?
The other thing is, they have both gobbled up the pellet mixture and it has dawned on me that it's hard to know if each has had a their fair share....are you suppose to mix it with dry pellets and feed over the day, because I can't see how it would cling to the pellets-olive oil maybe?!
Thanks.

Put 2kg of feed in an sealed bin.  Add 1 scoop of medication (6g).  Mix thoroughly.

Feed the birds from this bin only fro the next 7 days.  If you run out before that, make up another 2kg of food.

Much easier than trying to add exact amounts each day :)

echo what casey said and don't forget that this should be their only feed for the week, no treats allowed.
