I had my Covid Vaccination at lunchtime today via a local pharmacy who are using AFC Fylde football ground as a vaccination centre. It was very well organised. I was given the vaccine at my appointment time so I was only in the building for 20 minutes. Had the Oxford AZ vaccine. I have never been so pleased to have an injection.

Does your second jab have to be the same make as the first one  ?     Mrs Bouquet

Yes, they give you a card with the make of vaccine on it. I already have my appointment for April, 11 weeks after todays at the same place. The letter I received asked me to book both appointments. I booked online via the link they gave me. I am impressed by the system they have in place for booking and also the organisation of the mass vaccination centres in our area.

I had mine at my surgery on Wednesday.  Everything extremely well organised, in and out in no time then had to sit and wait for fifteen minutes before going home.  The only side effect was a mildly stiff arm yesterday morning, but it's fine now.

Our 72 year old neighbour goes in for the jab tomorrow - they're really motoring now! Pretty near half a million jabs yesterday across the UK, well over 10 million done already - another reason to make you proud of our NHS.
Hopefully the ICU's will be normal in a couple of months and the mortality rate in the tens rather than hundreds.

After me asking if one has the same make of jab for the second one, I read that different jabs may be better.
It is so confusing.    Also, a new vaccine for the Autumn to beat the mutants.    Does that mean our original ones won't work.    :D  So confusing.      Try not to read or listen about it anymore.   ::)  Mrs B

The batteries in the micro tracking system only work for a few months  ;)

Tin hats at the ready.

Interesting, I must of built up a desent immune system as no effects from all the years of MAN FLU.
The females at the practice... different story   all the years they have laughed at me.

It's a theory that combing different vaccines may be more effective but it needs more testing and trials before they would run with it.
As the virus mutates they may need to tweak the vaccine, just like the flu jab is tweaked each year.
The proven fact is the current vaccine gives great protection against falling ill and even if you do fall ill, most likely to be quite mild. The press are desperate for a story and keep adding 1 and 1 to make 3.
