Sounds like the title of a book ...lol....anyway, the Artemesia 'Powis Castle' that
I planted way back in the spring has grown far bigger than I thought it would (even though I worked out it's growing space before planting) so, I need to divide it in half and replant - do you think it's too cold now (having seen next weeks forecast brrrrrr) or is it tough enough to survive? Thanks as always, Jude.

I had the exact same thing happen - it grew far too huge for its spot. Now is a good time to divide it, but when you replant the halves, mound up their new spots slightly so there's no standing water on them and they'll come back as hearty as ever.
