 I planted 16th of the 11th 2018 my red cross onions overwintering I went there today there is no show but plenty of roots on the bulbs is this because without too much rain or will they show a bit later

As long as they have some roots, there is nothing to worry about. The tops will will grow when they're ready and possibly not until it warms up a bit in early spring.
