Title: greenhouse glass
Post by: adal on August 12, 2010, 12:03
Has any member used Polycarbonate or Acrylic sheet glass as replacement for greenhouse glass? As I am thinking of replacing a few glass panes. also is it easy to keep clean or am I better of with glass sheets also the cost.

I haven't used polywhatsit but know a greenhouse that does...  ;)

We were at a Garden Centre the other day and I saw a brand-new greenhouse (price reduced) clad in polythingmebob so I guess it must be an efficient material for the purpose.

Less light but better insulation.

(The sheets were held in place with the traditional glazing clips)

Next door has here as he was fed up with the weather breaking it. It seams to work very well on the side of the greenhouse.

My little greenhouse has the polywhatsit glass purely because of the dogs (who are a bit scatty) and it seems okay.  I don't notice any light difference between that and glass.
