Hi! Just wondered if anyone out there has Thuringian bantams ?
I've just got two and they are fabulous! Such friendly birds they just come and sit on my knee or perch on my shoulder. They are such confident birds ! Would highly recommend them as a good family breed !!

lovely. My Roberta, a bantam, doesn't like her wings being held in and prefers to sit on the hand.

Think I have over paid for them as they are from a fancy garden centre in lancashire however there are not many places that sell the rare breeds ! I like the polish bantams but fell in love with these and their beards !!

Hi Quail Chick,
Good to hear you have some too, where are you based ?
I really love them, so different to anything else I have, they are a dream to watch and have a really lovely chirp!
I'm tempted to get some more, or maybe hatch some.

Sar x ;)

hi  im living near thurles co tipperary in ireland and am a small time hobbyist and love rearing ornamental and unusual fowl and quail especially since my dad and only child died as i find it keeps my mind busy and i always loved fowl as i was reared on a farm with chicks  and other poultry and animals and im happiest in my wellies with a spade either mucking out with the hens or in my greenhouse and polytunnel  as i dont like shopping as i was always a home bird -happiest in my back garden

Hi Quail chick

Hi there,

Just logged on to the allotment site, not been on it for a while.
Do you have a few Thuringians?? I was wondering how noisy the cockerals are ? I know it sounds a daft question, I have had cockerals before but ended up culling them due to living in a part residential area, I wondered whether a bantam cockerel would be quieter ??

I really love my pinky and perky my Thuringians they are just adorable and so friendly.

Hope you are well ?
Hows the weather over there?
