Im getting two embden geese .hopefully an breeding pair ??i just carnt wait im getting them as soon as  they are old enuf come off the heat lamp .

it taking forever !!
do they have a breeding season ??

Geese start getting intrested in mating in January with first eggs arriving mid Feb  :)

My Goose Crumb is fantastic follows me everywhere I go, hope you have as much fun with yours when you get them:)

oh what a lovely girl vember! I would love geese but dont they need around a acre or so?

im gettin them about 6 weeks old !! at that time is it to late to get them to think im there mother . because i wont them to become friendly geese but still be sort of guard geese .

We are very lucky with Crumb as she is an excellent guard goose and will not let anyone except me and o/h on to our property, but is so friendly that she'll let me pick her up,  she'll even jump on my knee to be preened  :lol:

Crumb has the run of our 5 acres, although she has certain points which she will not stray beyond, she's happiest round the house where we are   :D

so if i get them at 6 weeks old  they shud be good guards geese and friendly???

I should think they'll be fine especially if you give them the odd titbit, Crumb loves plums, satsumas, apples, brown bread and mealworms, eats all out of my hand.
Yours will get to know the people that are normally around and alert you straight away to strangers. The only probs you might have is this time next year when your Gander will get protective of the female.
