Blackberry bush in a container?

How realistic is my vision of growing a blackberry bush in a pot...a really big pot but a pot none the less..?

Internet searches are bleak and contradictory... :roll:

I have moved back in with my parents for a while...I want to grow fruit and veg in pots and containers in the large and bland patio garden. I was hoping using pots would mean I could transfer the plants to an allotment when I am finally offered one.

I grew one in a pot last year along with a raspberry, didnt get a vast amount off it but suspect it was because it was the first year.

It seemed to grow well so hoping for bigger and better things this year

They would do okay for a few years but not for many. They have travelling runner roots like raspberries and eventually their circling would fill in with roots and stress the whole plant.
