Rhubarb

I have recently read that you should stop pulling rhubarb at the end of June, this will improve crops the following year. Been gardening a long time but never heard this one before…….. any comments???
Eagles soar but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

compost it matey  :lol: .been pulling it till october n never harmed ,i always cover the crown over in winter with straw to protect em tho
still alive /............

Oddly enough, it's widely practised over here to not harvest rhubarb after June. Probably because our summers are so hot and dry that the plants are looking pretty sad by end of July and to keep harvesting would probably kill the plant eventually. I imagine the taste suffers as well. You can't even find store rhubarb in July and onwards.

Using rhubarb harvested after June for wine making is supposed to increase the risk of jellification of the brew.
