Pickled beets
« on: August 05, 2009, 22:03 »
Hiya everyone,

When i'm pickling my baby beets and jarring them do i simply sterilise the jars in the oven then put the beets and vinegar in the jar?

Only reason i'm wondering is when making jam you put a wax disc on, does the beetroots keep ok simply with a lid on an old jam jar?

thanks for any help

Yes, but use lids with a plastic coating inside.  Dont put metal lids without the coating with vinegar.  You dont need the wax disc.
