Anyone have a clue what this is? I have some on my plot and it has been planted between some bricks. It has a very strong smell.

Well it should be easy to tell which of those it is by the smell then. At first I agreed Lovage, but on seeing Aunty's picture I'm not so sure it isn't Wormwood.

If you pick a leaf and rub it, Lovage is quite celery-like and Wormwood is distinctively aromatic/perfumey! You'll certainly be able to tell the difference. You could confirm this by tasting a tiny bit.

It doesnt smell like celery at all, the smell is very strong and perfumey
So looks like it could be wormwood, need to find out what wormwood is now.

I love worm wood and others of the artemisia family.  I grow them in my flower boarder at home.  I love the smell.  I can smell it in my mind whan I just see their picture

It does have a lovely aroma, its good in a border.
