I had an email about the corn I'd bought from Ocado, advising to dispose of it safely and notification an automatic refund would be made, which I thought was excellent customer service. Snasbods on the other hand have been very quiet about it despite me purchasing contaminated corn from there too.

My understanding is if it's been cooked properly it's safe ?

Listeria is a bacteria that produces toxins if storage facilities are not as they should be. The bacteria is killed when cooking at temperatures over 74C, but I think it was the suppliers that didn't keep their produce at the correct temperature to prevent it continuing to grow.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

It's all items from the same packer/producer - could be poor hygiene, or a breakdown in their refrigeration process.

Yes, but the shops can all buy stock from the same supplier, who just uses different packaging to suit each supermarket brand.
