Sweet Lorane is a broad bean variety that has come to my attention recently.
A key selling point is their reported ability to survive in winter down to 10°F (-12°C). That would make it a very viable choice for a fall-planted variety in our southern continental climate, where winter temperatures frequently dip below freezing, but only dip to -12°C once every few decades. The beans apparently are a bit smaller than Windsor. 95 days to maturity.
Has anyone grown this variety? If so, I would like to hear your reviews/opinions! They seem to be widely available at the various online seed companies over here. Thank you!
